Cell last Thursday was a gentle time of sharing and there were just four of us. Pastor Dave, who was there with Pastor Louise, myself and Kriss, said that it was just what he needed after a very busy few days. I must admit that it was good for me and Kriss as well. We seem to be so busy at work these days. Kriss is doing a lot of travelling although it is through some of the most fantastic scenery that Scotland has to offer. And my split shift days are very long in terms of hours although the plus side is that I get to play games and stuff as part of my job! And I get paid as well!!!
The down side of Thursday evening was that despite winning 1 v 0, against Dinamo Bucharest, Everton went out of the UEFA Cup 2 v 5 over the two games. Bucharest players were constantly feigning injury and were falling over at the slighest touch from an Everton player. Big Dunc, [Duncan Ferguson] Everton's 6 feet plus Scottish striker chased after a Bucharest player at one point and got hold of him by the throat and pushed him to the floor! The Bucharest player had spat at another Everton player and, as the referee had done nothing about this, Big Dunc decided to dish out his own brand of punishment! Fortunately the referee 'missed' this incident also! Late on in the game Mikle Arteta, one of our midfield players, was deliberately charged in the back as he jumped to head the ball. The Bucharest player, who did it, had run at Arteta from behind and, with no intention of going for the ball, jumped into his back with his arm hitting Arteta's neck. Arteta's head went back with whiplash and then the impact sent him forward into the ground with his head hitting the ground first. He then swallowed his tongue and had a fit as he lay on the ground. They took a long time to get him on a spinal board and get him off to hospital but fortunately he is ok and there is no serious damage. But will the European Football Association take action against the cowardly player who carried out this assault? Of course not. Because all they are interested in is the money that the sport brings in. Make no mistake about it, this, in my opinion was an assault of attempting to inflict serious injury on an opponent, a fellow footballer.
Rachel arrived in Elgin on Friday evening and we had a good two days with her. She met up with her old drama teacher on Saturday when we went to the school show. The show was called, "Disco Inferno" and was basically - boy meets girl; boy signs away soul to become a rock star; boy loses girl; boy realises what he has done; boy repents; boy gets back soul; boy gets back girl; boy becomes rock star anyway! Just your average high school show! It was a good evening and there was some good talent on show. And on the way home Rachel said she might check out her local amateur dramatics scene down in Kirkcaldy; so if your reading this Rach, make sure you do!

Kriss hasn't been too great these last few days - some sort of viral infection - we would appreciate prayer for the situation.
Hopefully I'll blog some more of my testimony tonight.
Everton lost 0 v 2 to Manchester City yesterday and we are firmly rooted at the bottom of the league - so the only way is up! COYB! [come on you blues].
Right, I've got to go and put some laundry on the the washing line, finish off updating pinetreehouse.org and get something to eat before going back to work.
