Match at Villareal

just finished. We were beaten 2 v 1 again. However we pounded them in the second half after scoring the equaliser. We then had a goal disallowed for no apparent reason. The referee tonight was an Italian guy, Collina. One of the best refs in the world but even the commentators tonight were disappointed in him and as an ex-referee myself I was disappointed in his performance. They scored their second with about 30 seconds to go when we were pressing forward to try and score a second to send the match into extra time. But I am proud of the blues tonight and the supporters who travelled to Spain did us proud. Officially there were only 1600 tickets for us but they reckon there were about twice that number at the game and they were in with the Villareal supporters and there doesn't seem to have been any trouble.

Well that's us into the UEFA Cup which is ok - at least we are still in a European competition. It really is a dream situation because two seasons ago we were very close to being relegated.

I'm proud to be an Evertonian - not just tonight but all the time - COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
