I can post this now. Myself and Kriss have spoken with Pastors Dave & Louise and a solution has been reached.
Myrtle Cell will meet at a new venue starting next Thursday. We realised last Thursday, at the cell meeting, that the framework, that had been decided for the cell church groups was not what one couple was looking for.
Last Thursday evening was a difficult time for me personally and initially I handled the situation poorly. However I want to be able to move on and hopefully learn from that situation and be in the 'place' that God wants me to be in.
Good news about Tony - the guy who, when travelling up from down south for my son's wedding, came off his motor bike. Tony wasn't expected to live through the night and then it was thought he would not be able to walk again. Well this week he has taken a few steps with the aid of a walking frame! Praise God! All this recovery since 30 July!!! He is fully cognitive; he has always had feeling in his left leg and now he has got feeling in his right leg; he is able to feed himself; his left arm is ok but his right arm was nearly torn off. However he can move his wrist and his fingers. Please pray for the restoration of his right shoulder and arm and his continued physical and emotional restoration.
Also, Emma, who suffered severe back injuries in a horse riding accident, is also making good progress. They are still not sure about any future walking but there was the possibility this week that she has feeling back in her legs. Also, for the first time, she was able to get herself from her bed into a wheelchair and subsequently was taken out of the hospital to go shopping!!! Keep praying for Emma.
Last Thursday night Everton had an absolutely disastarous night away to Dinamo Bucharest - we lost 1 v 5 and that means that in the second leg we need to win 4 v 0 to get through - away goals count double in the event of a draw. Tomorrow [Monday] night we are away at Arsenal in the league. Arsenal put 7 past us last season so I'm not very optimistic about tomorrow's game.
Kriss is pottering about in the garden at the moment - it's that time of the year that you start to get everything ready for the coming winter.
Pastor Dave brought us a message from Hebrews 1 v1-3 this morning and one of the things that he spoke about was the business of purging....."when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high". Of course the 'he' is Jesus. Pastor Dave gave us a picture of how pipes are purged in the oil industry......with super heated steam etc and how the final purging is done with both ends of the pipe open. When God wants to purge us of our sins then we have to be open to that.....we have to be willing to open ourselves up to God's purging!
Pastor Louise starts her diploma course in Christian Counselling this weekend. She has to produce records of at least 60 hours of counselling as part of the course so I have decided to put myself forward for counselling and I pray that God will 'purge' me. I have always avoided this type of thing in the past; you know, weekend retreats etc but I believe that now God is telling me to open myself fully up to Him and His ways.
