a busy week so far.
Monday saw me at work for 8 hours - 7 until 12 in the morning and then 4 until 7 in the evening. We had a staff meeting that evening and a number of things were discussed including a good long break over Christmas and new year. We will be closed after work on the 23 December until the morning of the 3 Jan '06. Basically we will only have to take the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between Christmas and new year as holidays. This is because Christmas Day & New Year's Day fall on the Sunday. They are public holidays and are therefore transferred to the Tuesdays of each week. The 26 December is also a public holiday in the UK and in bonnie Scotland the 2 January is also a public holiday! So, voila, a lovely long break!
The schools went back on Tuesday so that's me back on the school runs. Very tight for time as one of the schools has changed its end of day time to the same as two others, one of which is the other side of town!
Tuesday evening saw the cell church leaders have their own cell meeting with Pastor Dave and Assistant Pastor Louise as the cell leaders. The five cells that have been formed have been named after trees and the cell leaders' cell is called 'Mulch' - our Pastor has a sense of humour!
The reason that our cells have been named after trees is that just over four years ago our fellowship was given a word from the Lord - a prophecy of growth was given from Isaiah 41 - check out verse 19 for the trees.
Last night the cell that Kriss and myself are responsible for had a get together just to break the ice as it were. Numerically we are the smallest cell and also have the most number of new people to the fellowship. We are the Myrtle Cell. There is also a cell for the young people aged 11 upwards.
Good news on Emma, the 19 year old who was thrown from her horse. She has been allowed up into a wheelchair with a body brace on and she is in good spirits. Tony, motorbike accident, has been allowed up from the horizontal for the first time in three weeks - he is allowed to have his bed raised to 40 degrees for a number of times during the day. Praise God that both have had successful first operations.
I start my childcare course next month and with cell church starting on the 1 September I have a busy time ahead. Please pray for wisdom, patience and perseverance for me.
