been an interesting day. First of all we got up into the roof space and found where the rain had been getting driven in; so that has been sealed. Have positioned a small electric fan heater up there so that is gradually drying off the damp patch and it looks as if I'll get away with a coat of paint on the ceiling. Roof slates will be replaced next week so everything is ok in that area. However - there is always a"however" - after about an hour from coming down out of the roof space we realised that the central heating was no longer up & running. So checked out the time clock and selection unit - ok. Couldn't really check out the thermostat but remembered that I had moved some wiring to be able to position the fan heater. So took the cover off the wiring junction box and found a wire out of it's connection. On moving it back in, the heating came back on line! It would appear that when the heating systemwas modified a few years back that the electrician had forgotten to tighten down the connection! Needless to say, I am not impressed but of course the people that did the job are no longer in business - what a surprise!!!
Kenny, you are right about sons; he was a great help today.
On a more lighter note, Everton won down at Plymouth Argyle 3 goals to 1. Now this was in the FA (Football Association) Cup. This is a knock out competition and gives lower league teams the chance to play against some of the big teams and maybe cause an upset but we went through to the next round fairly comfortably.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better than today but it's Sunday, so it will be!
